First Run
First thing you can see when you launch Love Calculator Pro for the fist time is Love Calculator's Guide (also included in this help). Guide explains Love Calculator's theoretical background rather than technical stuff. It is recommended to read the guide to learn about Love Calculator's tests and calculations. Almost each chapter of the guide contains one or two buttons that allows you to perform basic tasks (such as opening a window) related to the chapter's contents. Going through the guide can give you an idea how Love Calculator Pro works.
First Love Test
Open Calculator window (if not opened) by selecting menu Window > Calculator... Type your and your partner's full names and birthday dates into the edit fields. Just make sure you are entering information to the correct side: female on the left and male on the right. Then just press Calculate! button to perform the main compatibility test which results will be displayed in the Love Results window. It's that easy. Another test to try is the Timeline test. To launch the test click the Heart icon in the top-middle of the Calculator window and select Timeline... from the displayed menu. The timeline chart will be displayed in an opened Timeline window.
Similarly you can try Baby Chart. Click the Heart icon once again and select Baby Chart... from the displayed menu. The baby chart will be calculated and displayed in an opened Baby Chart window.
Best Love test (Best Male/Best Female) is launched exactly the same way. This test need some profiles already stored in your database so it is recommended to try it later when you will be able to work with database and you will have some profiles stored there.
Databases
This will show you how to store your and your partner's profiles into the database. Go back to Calculator window. There's two Disk icons, one for each gender. Click the icon on the female's side of the Calculator window. From the opened menu select Store... item. This will store female's profile from the Calculator window in the database. Repeat the task for the male. Now you have two profiles in your database. To verify it, open the Databases window by selecting menu Window > Databases.... Working With Files
Love Calculator Pro works with several types of files and for that purpose it creates its Data folder and following 5 subfolders within it:
Females folder contains files with female profiles (one file = one profile).
Males folder contains male profiles.
Couples folder contains couple data files, female's and male's profiles in one file.
Results folder contains saved love results.
Databases folder contains database files (currently only the default one).
You can keep your Love Calculator's files at any location on your disk but using default data folders makes Love Calculator's usage simple and more comfortable.
Now return to Calculator window to try to save a profile. Use already mentioned Disk icon on female's side and select Save... item from the displayed menu. A standard save file dialog will be opened to save the file. By default it is directed to the Females folder and the file name is set to female's name with the extension .lcf. Confirm the dialog and the profile is saved. You can repeat the task for male if you want. If you are done, try to verify if the file was saved correctly: from the Disk menu select Clear item. This will clear females (or males) data completely. Click the Disk icon once again and from the menu select Open... item. A standard open file dialog is opened to allow you to select an existing profile file to be opened. Confirm the dialog and the profile should be loaded and Calculator window should be updated with the new data.
Now when you know the basics, you can try to open/save profiles or couple data with File menu or from Launch Pad window. Calculator window help page will tell you more about working with files.
Customization
There are three things you can configure via Units section of Preferences window.
By default Love Calculator Pro uses 'Feet & Pounds' to measure height and weight. If metric system is used in your country, switch the units popup menu to 'Meters & Kilograms'.
Another thing you can change are gender names. Default values are 'Female' and 'Male'. You can use names popup menu to change it to one from predefined values or you can use your own names (our favourite names are 'Beauty' and 'Beast').
Third thing to change is astrological signs (zodiac) language. Default value is 'Latin' but you can switch it to 'English' if you can't speak Latin ;-)
